Ludum Dare 19 #48

December 21st, 2010 by Shaun Milne

So I entered Ludum Dare at the weekend, my very first LD! It was amazing, seriously, if you are into making games, and are lacking motivation on your current projects. Just do it! The community feel on the site and IRC is worth taking part for alone.

So, the theme this time was discovery, which was kind of a generic theme. I went with a space shooter thing, where you have to scan for, then harvest PSIENC orbs, to power your ship and stay alive. The controls are a bit wonky, but I might come back to it at a later date.

Anyway, you can play the game and download the messy source code over on the PSIENC entry page.

Tools used: pivotal tracker, dropbox, unity pro, blender, photoshop, sfxr, audicity and a Sony PSP with a gameboy emulator loaded with LSDJ

I also posted playable snapshot builds while I was making it to show iterative progress throughout the weekend.
